Windsong wins Heineken Cape to Bahia 2006

Windsong has taken the mono-hull line honours and is the overall winner on handicap of the Heineken Cape to Bahia 2006. She crossed the finish line at 15h46 UTC on Friday, 20 January 2006. Windsong's race time was 16 days 2 hours and 46 minutes

Windsong walked away with a truck-load of silverware at a lively Brazilian prize-giving ceremony on Friday 27th January.

The prize-giving, held at the swish Bahia Yacht Club, was a splendid evening with mountains of traditional Brazilian food, flowing Caipirinhas and a vibrant floor show. Dancing by the South Africans was a bit dodgy as they tried to emulate the Brazilian rythms, but they gave it a good try!

The owners of Windsong (Stuart Bowen-Davies and Huw Evans, together with Alison Hunter) flew out for the occasion and raised the levels celebration to new heights.
